The Department of Computing offers strong undergraduate majors, supplemented with research activities. The principal strengths of the department lie in its faculty, the curricular emphasis and balance, and the facilities available for instructional and investigative purposes. The faculties possess the required depth and breadth of knowledge in their specialty areas and they innovatively bring their professional experiences, expertise and skills to the classroom.

Additionally, the department strives continually to update its strong programmes of study in order to qualify its graduates for positions in the IT industry located in the region and beyond. By providing rigorous scientific and theoretical foundations of the discipline it aims to ensure for its graduates a successful place in the profession.

Every programme has a general set of modules to be taken as departmental requirement, another set of modules that are specialisation centric and finally a set of modules as college requirements and electives. To promote self-study, research and inquiry students are required to do Projects at specific points during their programmes of study.
